This started because I came across a cute puppy on rescueme.org. https://post.rescueme.org/21-02-19-00020 It indicated that the puppy is located in Brooklyn, NY, which is near me. I clicked the contact name below, Liona Emile (see email attached), and sent an email requesting more information. She sent me to this website, https://www.harktownrescure.com, and told me to fill out an application. My application was approved immediately. She told me in order to reserve the puppy I must pay $300. Then I can make a reservation time. I was very hesitant but she insists that I will receive a refund immediately if I'm not happy. She first asked me to use PayPal. I actually tried but the payment was rejected by PayPal. That should've been a big red flag. I gave up but she came back with Zelle, which I also have. The payment went through and I was ready to pick up the puppy today. I went to the address in Brooklyn and there was no such address! I called and they texted me that they are coming down with the puppy. I asked them where and no answer. I called and no answer. Finally after 10 calls the phone was NOT accepting any calls! I sent them 10 more texts and no answer! By then it was quite clear I am not getting the puppy AND I'm out $300. When I came home, my friend sent me this news report she found online.
