I fell for the scam. I was selling a piano on craig's list and was contacted by Harry Kane--after the same back and forth about the wedding, I finally received a check in the mail with instructions to pay the movers--which needed to be electronic on my part. Tons of red flags along the way, and blinded by my keen desire to get rid of the piano, I took the bait.

First email was from Mahia Nusrat and it requested that I not respond via CraigsList email system and email her directly at [email protected]. She said she saw the ad and wanted to pick up the item.

Second follow up email was from Harry Kane from the address [email protected] where he explained the "out of town for work and busy planning daughter's wedding" story. Also offered to pay an extra $50 to hold the item until he could pick it up. Asked for my address (insisted that it not be a PO Box) and phone number so he could send a cashier's check.

So many red flags in those exchanges that I looked up the emails and names and found a lot of similar reports (out of town, daughters wedding).

My husband was selling something on Craigslist and he had a buyer and he FEDEXed him a cashier's check for over$1500.00 more than he was selling the item for. He said he was out of state and that a friend was picking up the item up at my place of business. He did not cash the check and told him that he could give his friend the cash when he picked it up and he would be happy to sell the item to him.

They corresponded by text only. He harassed him for a couple of texts and he has not heard from him since
