Called from (347) 298-1881. Claimed to be from a company called Hart (or Heart), which they said represents Unions. The offer sounded sketchy from the start, though when they said they found my resume on Monster I was fairly certain it was a scam.
An older man was on the other end, telling me, in detail about everything they do and that their regional office is in Tracy, CA. I asked him about the pay and he said between $50-100k first year, which is obviously enticing. He said it was a management role, but wasn't able to expand on what that meant. I asked if they had a website and he said no, they don't deal with the public. That didn't sit right with me and I asked if there was any press on the company, or any record of them at all for me to look at and he said "well, I'm 70 and don't know how to work the internets, so what I would do is just call one of our 36,000 union members and ask them" and that seemed... very strange, to say the least. No company, no matter how not-dealing-with-the-public they are, doesn't have an online presence. So when he asked if I was interested, I said no, it was just too sketchy and there just weren't enough details.
