I recently received in the mail a check of $2,800.00. The instructions were as follows:

Buy $2,500 of Wal-Mart gift cards in $500 increments

Open the packs and peel the silver foil back on each card

Capture image of front and back for each card purchased

You were then allowed to keep the $300.00 for yourself.

I work for a credit union so I am aware of these scams.

I do not know how they got my name or address. I received a priority mail package and inside was a letter and check for $1,870 with information to purchase Wal-Mart Gift cards and to then peel/scratch the silver foil and then to take pictures of the gift cards front and back and then to fill out the survey with specific information. The letter says to deposit the check and keep my commission of $350.00 and use the rest for the survey exercise. It is a good thing I know this to be a scam as my wife had done real mystery shopping a few years ago with a legitimate company.

I received a letter in the mail to do what a lot of articles say about buying the gift cards at Walmart. Super scam. I have to block the guys number now. I have no idea how I even got signed up for this!
