“Hi this is Janice, calling from the Head Office of Social Security Administration. Your social security number is compromised. Please contact your allotted para-legal officer at 443-360-5407 immediately. I repeat it...”
I did not call that number, but called the National Social Security Administration, 800-772-1213, who informed me that the phone number is not one of their listings and no office of that sort exists in Aberdeen, MD. Nor do they monitor for SS# compromise. They are not authorized and have no way to do it. It is up to each individual to check their own credit report.
