My girlfriend and I were in the market for a puppy when we happened upon the website healthyaussiepuppies.com/. The website at first glance looks very official. My girlfriend for the next two days talked with "BENS JULIE" over email and text about the litter and about the available puppies. (678)810-5949 We never saw any videos of the pups just photos. We never spoke over the phone just text. Looking back on that we made way to quick of a decision and did not do our proper research. These puppies were out of state from us, however, "BENS JULIE" Claimed that for $200 he could ship the puppy to our doorstep, Same day. My girlfriend and I didn't even think twice while we sent a total of $950 through zelle for the puppy and shipping. They emailed us a very official-looking "pet sales contract and adopting forms" for us to sign. The only information that we signed on these documents was our home address, names, and phone numbers. Never having adopted an animal before these looked very official. included in the papers was a microchip number. I looked up the microchip number and it had been activated a couple of days prior, so at this point, I felt pretty good about the situation. I figured that no way scammers would go through the prosses of actually having a recently AKC Registered microchip ready. They did.. The AKC Number is 900012001004672. The next morning we were told that the puppy would be dropped off with the pet carrier agency. We were then contacted by someone through email and text who claimed to be Jeffery Logan with skybluelogistics.agency.(662)995-8054 1200 Jefferson Ave, Oxford, MS 38655, USA. We got an email claiming that the creat the puppy was dropped off in was not sufficient and we needed to pay $1500 for a crate rental Which we will get back in cash once we pick up our puppy. In this email they give you a confirmation code with Sky blue logistics that when is entered into the tracking tab on their website sends you to a custom (at first glance) real looking confirmation plane ticket confirmation. however, At this point, I saw nothing but red flags. I then started to look into the websites of both https://www.healthyaussiepuppies.com/ and https://skybluelogistics.agency/# and they did not hold up. Neither companies were real companies and their websites used photos from other places on the internet. They add just enough to their sites so that the average person wouldn't notice the broken links and fake photos. At this point, we are devastated that the puppie we thought we were adopting wasn't even real. Well, she was real, and after finding Sedona on Instagram all grown up. I felt vindicated in our suspicions but grieved over the fact that the puppy we thought we bough was a HUGE SCAM. I asked multiple times why they needed an extra $1500 and they started to claim that they were going to have to take the puppy to the pound and press abandonment charges. I can see how a lot of people get suckered into paying ridicules amount of money because you are so attached to this new puppy and they start saying that you are going to press charges for animal cruelty and so on. they will just keep making up new reasons why you need to send more money until you finally catch on. I hope this stops at least one person from falling for one of these scams or maybe even this very one. I would like very much to see these websites taken down. I realize a lot of the scammers are out of the country and I would assume this one is too. however, what I find interesting is that the cell phone linked to the sky blue logistics website is the same phone number that texted us. I would have thought that every time one of these guys calls they would fake a new phone number. I'm not sure if that helps in any way but it was something I thought was interesting.
