This scammer was posing as a dog breeder that I was interested in getting a dog from. They used the exact same name for their website as the correct breeder, except the scammer changed one letter in their website to allow it to be a different website than the correct one. They sent me information from an email associated with their “fake business” stating they were the correct breeders stating they were Mr. and Mrs. So and So using the real breeders names but changed the spelling of the correct breeders names in their email to me. The deposit was paid through Venmo after their guarantee that the puppy I wanted would be placed on hold until I pay the remaining fee once I picked the puppy up. Once the deposit payment was sent to this person, I did not hear from them after, regardless of numerous attempts I made to them. It was then that I found the original breeder’s real website and reached out to her and she confirmed that this person was posing as her and her business and I was scammed. I went to my bank immediately and they are having to look into this to try to get my money back. I also alerted Venmo of this person scamming me as well.
