I was referred buy a legit company to a man who was supposedly a client to this company I applied for, for a position as a personal assistant. They company gave me this mans email and I contacted him about the job. Sent him my resume and letter of recommendation. He replied back that he could not meet with me because he was out of town but that we would be in contact soon and we could sit down and discuss the terms of the position and sign all the documents. He wanted me to start working before I had a chance to sign any documentation and I refused. Then I got another email stating he had sent me a check UPS and that he was going to need me to book him a flight and room from LAX to Singapore and he gave dates. Sure enough I received the check in the mail just like he had planned but when I looked up the restaurant name on the check with the ScamPulse.com there was no restaurant listed. I found it really weird that someone would send you a check without even knowing you and then the check is coming from a third party, not even from the person that you are supposedly working for.
