I initially received a text message saying my ADT system was 3G and needed to be upgraded it wouldn’t work anymore. There was a link that looked like ADT website. I set up an appt, and a man came to our house and told us that ADT used them to lease the equipment now because they no longer used alarms.com for equipment leasing. He said he was sent to transition us to the new equipment. We quickly realized he was not with ADT. We did not sign anything and got him out pretty quickly when we realized we were being scammed. I had ADT help me change all passwords due to the man having an iPad with him when he looked at the alarm panel.

Rep said his name was Elli-I have an additional number for him if I’m contacted and it’s needed.

First text saying to upgrade for ADT and schedule appointment. Then phone call from a representative before the appointment discussing the equipment options and upgrades, subsequent signing of a contract via text message link, contract was signed only with our name and address along with the person I was speaking with. The contract was for 5 years. No payment information or other personal information was taken. Next a phone call to another place via his text to confirm we were switching, etc.
