On Monday, September 30, we got in touch, and he told me the repair would cost $3,300. He offered to pick up my car from my house, but I told him I could drop it off at his workshop or home. He insisted on picking it up from my house, and I agreed, as I was busy at home. When he arrived, I asked for his credentials and took photos, which are attached. He complied and showed me his Newark municipal ID, claiming he worked there and could be trusted. I then asked him where he would repair my car, and he said it would supposedly be at his house at 167 South 7th St. in Newark.
Later, he promised to return my car by Wednesday, October 2, but he never responded. After repeatedly calling him, he told me to let him work in peace and did not give me a delivery date until October 10. On that date, he told me the car was ready, but I had to pick it up at an address in Paterson, at a mechanic shop I had never dealt with.
The car still has the same transmission overheating problems. He also claimed to have replaced the flywheel and TCM. I demanded receipts proving they were new, but he never provided them. He refuses to take responsibility for my car, which remains damaged, and charged me $4,223.
