Type of a scam Rental
"Thanks for your interest in my property, I sincerely apologize for the late response, I own this house and it is currently available for rent and move in ready.
I would have loved to show it to you myself but I already left for Texas where I live now. The house viewing sessions was concluded on Tuesday and I had to leave due to work and family emergencies and my wife is down with a severe leukemia. You are free to always drive by to look around, view the interiors through the windows and get back to me if satisfied.
Then I can get the house secured for you if you are seriously interested and also I can set up an application from here. No app fee.

I looked up the real owner's name on the county assessor's website, this person switched the first and last names. I also googled the address, and saw that it had been listed for rent very recently, but the rent was $1,900 a month, not $900. I knew it was a scam by now, but I wanted to waste this person's time. I started asking weird questions (can I lower the ceiling fans by 3 inches? Are there an even number of tiles in the bathroom? Has anyone been murdered in the house? Is it OK if I'm a vegetarian? How many couches will fit in the house?). He seems to be getting tired of the questions, but is still willing to take my money. I have of course not sent him anything, I'm not even looking for a place to live (I just moved).
