They called and said that they had made an error and were sending ink cartridge refills. They asked for my copier number and information, then attempted to send the package through FedEx to my office. I received an email with an invoice weeks later with an extremely high price and found that this company had been reported for scams by many others.

This company targeted a university research lab by calling and claiming that ink toner cartridges had been ordered and were being shipped. The person who was called was then claimed as having "placed an order" on the phone, and the cartridges (likely poorly made or illegitimate) were shipped and received. The PO # listed was "verbal per customer." The billing address was assumed to be the shipping address, and the price of the product was more than double what it should have been, though the cartridges are stated to work in the printer that our lab has. The company then used "Nick White" to call and speak with the person who supposedly placed the order, and he wouldn't speak to anyone else except that person or "a supervisor." He immediately became defensive when I called him back and further asked who placed the order. He said that all calls are recorded for quality purposes but that I could not access the previous call in which the order had been placed - only a legal team or my supervisor could do that. He then said that the cartridges could be shipped back to the address on the invoice with the invoice number within 5 days, but we would have to pay for shipping. The invoice was sent through QuickBooks. "Nick White" then hung up the phone and refused to further discuss the matter.
