I thought I was paying towards a secure loan because was told that the insurance company would be my co-signer. I sent the money by e-transfer to an email address that stopped existing after I sent it. Chris 647-576-3582 the "manager" called me and demanded more money, calling my stupid and mental throughout the conversation. I asked for a refund and he refuses unless I pay more...

Actually the same sort of thing as the person above except it was “Lansington financial”. Level 1 was “Patrick”, who is actually listed as a manager on the better business bureau website (1 (289) 527-4000). He was who I was role told to call after being approved for a loan. He said I would need to secure my loan with either collateral, co-signer or insurance. I went for the insurance and he was like “that’ll cost you money” and was trying to talk me out of it. So it all felt legit. I could not afford the 10% deductible so he managed to talk them down and told me to etransfer someone from the insurance company, which I thought was kind because their offices are quite far from me. The rest of the deductible was coming out of the loan and the loan was to be deposited within 4 hours of the transfer. Then Patrick disappeared and I could not get hold of anyone from the office.

Then Chris from the office called 647-576-3582. When his number popped up I googled it (which I had also done for the rest of the characters but nothing came up) and this report came up and that’s when I knew I was in trouble. When I told him I didn’t know him and that only Patrick was listed on Google, he was really rude and aggressive, called me stupid several times. He demanded the rest of the deductible to release the funds. I said I would like to cancel and he said I’d get my money back in 3 working weeks. When I asked why he’d take so long he said no refund and then said I need to maintain the insurance company and pay straight away or I’d be on the hook for double. Why maintain the policy if i never got a loan though?

Anyways, I’ve reported this anywhere I could the last 24 hours because I’ve just been so upset. I know better.

I had been looking for a loan online and had applied on a couple of websites. A few days later I received a call from a "company" saying they were a loan broker. After convincing me that in order to secure my loan I would need to put down a surety/insurance payment of a certain percentage (which I did) they sent me a contract. The next day they called and said the provider had backed out of the offer and they would look elsewhere for me, as each day went by the loan amount increased. I had been given a phone number for a loan manager and rep that I would be dealing with. I had asked the loan manager and my rep for the money back over the phone and by email and not to move forward with the loan and they advised me the money will be coming back to me within 15 business days. I have emailed and called to leave messages with no response. Once I started to read up more on lenders I realized that this is a scam.

Initial contact was by a Glen Johnson 226-580-7951

2nd contact was Kim 613-413-4571

3rd contact was Brent (loan manager) 647-576-3582

4th contact was Abigail Thompson 343-301-4553
