I had an outstanding debt from a car loan in 2008 through Navy Federal. I was going through tough times back then. Hadn't heard anything up until now. I got a call from a young lady from another number telli.g me to contact the number I have posted here. A man named David Morrison became my contact. Sounded very legit. They also contacted my dad and my job. Gave me a case number amd everything. So I felt it was legit. Offered me a payout or payment plan. If I didn't I was threatened to be sued. We came to an agreement of a payment plan with option to payout once I had more money which was significantly lower than what was owed. So I set up a payment plan and made my first payment. Then I was contacted by another scam company called JM ASSOCIATES. I reached out to David Morrison and he told me they were scammed amd not to deal with them. I then contacted Navy Federal and they never heard of either company. They sold my debt to a company called Cavalry Portfolio. I contacted them. They had my file on record. They didn't out source this debt to any other company amd they did not threaten me in any shape or form. I have disputed the payment to Hill Creek. Awaiting fund return so I can deal with Cavalry Associates directly. Be aware, David Morrison had emailed me documents to sign before payment and a receipt for payment to make things look legit. If any debt collector contacts you just contact the bank first. I haven't dealt with Navy Fedral since 2008 and they STILL had records to provide me with whom bought the debt. DOMT GET SCAMMED. Be safe

I was only left a message on my phone. The original message said to contact Jacob at SDP or SDB. I was told that legal documents were being sent to my home and that they required a signature from me and my wife. They did not have my address right and seemed to be unaware that my wife had passed away during Covid. They said there was a pending lien against my property. They gave me a case number 2024-?. They even had the last four numbers of my dead wife's social security. I called and spoke with a guy that said he was Carter Lane. He said there was an unpaid auto loan from 2010 and that I owed about 10,000 dollars on because of all the interest. He said he would be garnishing my wages, my bank account, and whatever else he could. I was angry and immediately knew this company was trying to scam me! I said " the bill is not mine and it is way past the statute of limitations to legally sue for a debt". He then became rude, got louder and said that "I was interrupting him". I immediately hung up. After I got off the phone I was angry. The fact that he mentioned my dead wife, even though he thought she was alive and was trying to take advantage of me. I wanted to physically confront him. These people are the [censored] of the earth. I recorded the messages they left and my phone call with them for evidence. I have looked for a physical location of these people and it does not seem to exist. Their website is really fake. It looks like it was put together in a few minutes and uses stock photos of lawyers that are actors and can be found online. I traced their DNS server to Kansas City, but there does not appear to be a real physical location for them. I want to find them! If you have any relevant information on how to physically find them and their location, please tell me! It's important to make sure that they don't take advantage of anyone else again. If you are going to be sued a processer will serve you and they will not call ahead. You will also be notified in writing and have a chance to respond to real debts. Only a lawyer can sue you and it is a lengthy process. They will not notify or threaten you. These people are horrible con-artists. I also have a friend that is a private investigator, and he said that Hill Creek and Associates. also set up another website using another name, (Haggerty and Associates) using stock photos, but appear to be the same people. They also set up their website on the exact same date and use much of the exact same wording to sound official as the first site. Scammers beware, because we will find you!

Got a call saying I owed $8,000 on a vehicle that was purchased in 2000 (24 years ago). They went by “Hill Creek and Associates”. They gave a reference number, they called my job, said they would be serving me court papers. They tried to negotiate and bring the cost down to $5,000, but it had to be paid within 2 hours. I said no, the guy said he would have a tow truck at my house to repossess my truck as a form of repayment. They knew all of my personal information, address, where I bank at, last 4 of SSN, vehicles I owned, where I work, and information about my ex wife and kids. I have filed a police report and closed all of my bank accounts.

I did some research on this "extremely fake company". They created their website only two months ago. I traced their web account to Kansas City. They will send a form letter with the letterhead that they are located at 301 North Lake Ave, Pasadena, California. However, if you search for that on the internet you will simply find that it is an office building that runs many services including a Chiropractor. They do not include a suite number on their letterhead because they only exist, if at all on the internet. They buy older bills that nobody could collect and then they illegally call and threaten people. The even tell people that they are being served with papers, that liens are being placed on property, that wages are being garnished, that they will cancel your credit cards, and have vehicles taken away. None of that is remotely legal or legit. Also, their website is extremely fake as it uses stock photos of lawyers that can be found on Google. Those lawyers are actors. The only links they have are contact numbers and they are lying about what they do and how long they have been in business. They have a distorted view of how the law works. If someone is served they will not be notified ahead of time. Real law enforcement just shows up, they do not call. Only a lawyer can sue you and then if they win possibly get the court to garnish your wages or whatever is required to recoup the money. It is a rather long process. I now it ca be scary when someone calls you and is threatening. Personally, it makes me angry that people can get away with this. If you tell them anything it should be that the account is not yours and that even if it was that it is far past the statutes of limitation for collections. Tell them not to contact you again. each time they harass you or threaten you do have the legal right to sue them for each offense.

They called & stated that I owe over $7000 from 8 yrs ago. I know I do not. They have my social security number. They know all of my credit card names and stated they will be closing them. They then sent me a email after I provided one with letterhead and wanted me to sign the form to pay by balance in full for $5000 less. I'm scared all my info is going to be used for something bad.

They called my work looking for my employer to warn them There will be papers served. Called them back and apparently I owe thousands back to citibank. I have never dealt with city bank funny enuff. said it was from 2016. I have not had a loan in my name since 2000 or so, so I know it is scam. they have called my work yet again, and my employers are aware of the scam, i have since locked all my credits and my credit history is good!

These people called me from a different number with a different case number about a year ago. I kept all the information. Got a call from my process server supposedly today. Gave me the 866 number and case number to call. I did and it's the exact same thing. They will say they are hill creaking associates but nothing beyond that. Will not give you a name or anything. Said I owed on a credit card from 2004 That I did not pay. Told them the last time I did not know what they were talking about. They had my old address. Now they have found my new address and say we no longer own this properly. That they do. This is beyond ridiculous. I am tired of these people contacting from different numbers and different case numbers. The first time they called, they didn't even have my legal name. They had a nickname I go by. You cannot open a credit card in a nickname. But he went on to tell me detail by detail. All my information except for my new address. At that time I froze all my credit scores because I knew it was a scam. If I did have a credit card back in 2004, Which I did not, The statue of limitations ran out a long time ago. But these people whoever they are will not leave me alone. When you try to talk to them they just holler over you and hang up. I am.
Next going to file a complaint with the better business bureau. I should have done this the first time.
