I received a phone call from this 818 (LA Valley/Glendale) area code phone number who stated they were representing ONIT security for a debt collection. My account with them was closed and cancelled over a year ago. The representative stated that I had an outstanding debt of over $3,000 and claimed he wanted to resolve the issue through an offer. He also stated that they have been trying to contact me through phone and sent notices through mail. The representative never mentioned what exactly the offer was, but stated that the debt was on my credit report. I told the representative that the account was closed a long time ago and that I never received any notification of the debt in the mail or phone. The representative then became agitated and made unprofessional remarks. Before I was able to respond to his remarks he hung up. I did my own research and saw the company was based in Texas and did not have an 818 area code, further I checked my call log and did not see any numbers from this company, my credit report also does not have any of the information the representative claimed there was.
