Scammer for Hillhouse Investment Management LTD by Paul Wright at 478-501-1441

I was sent a text from Paul Wright describing a Work From Home job for an Investment company called Hillhouse Investment Management, LTD asking if I was able to schedule an interview on Microsoft Teams. I asked a few questions while looking up the company to see if it was spam. He stopped replying after I asked if we were doing a face to face on teams and a few questions about the company.

Remote jobs listed on CareerBuilder

They started off with sending me a text message. When I asked if I could assist them they wanted to know when I could start working. If I had teams or zoom for the interview. Her name allegedly is Jessica Wiler. I did apply for a remote job off of CareerBuilder when I asked this Jessica person. When did she want to do the zoom interview? She said immediately within the next 10 minutes. I said 10 minutes is too soon. I’m not at home right now. She said, can you pull over so we can do the interview. I’m thinking to myself she’s pretty pushy. She said I’m going to need to send you a check and you’re going to have to purchase the equipment. I was already in my car in the parking lot so while she’s texting me, I immediately pulled up the companies name and asked was this a scam or not and I saw other messages . So I told her no need to set up the zoom as I had already found out they were a scam. She never said anything else. I am upset because I contacted CareerBuilder just to find out that they are located out of India when I advise them of the issue I was given the runaround so we’ll see what happens there. Also the phone number that they text me from is 239. 366. 2926.

I was sent an email describing a Work From Home job for an Investment company called Hillhouse Investment Management and that I am ready to take the next step. I have been applying and have various agencies sending my resume to potential companies that match. The email mentioned to get on the application Skype to message someone named Mrs. Margarita Williams, skype name is live:.cid.c1bd82ad1e9f7da1. The interview proceeded shortly after reaching out and everything seemed as normal, despite it being a text interview and they even provided a website until it was described a check would be sent my way and I was to purchase equipment from their chosen vendor. Once I got to that point they became very insistent that I do it now and the check was sent from a Roofing company in California. At this point I already was weary of their actions so I called the Roofing company to verify and it was described to me that they were recently hacked and valuable information was stolen from them. No personal information was given besides my name and address and a few professional references. I did not disclose bank or highly sensitive information.
