I was shopping for household items and came across a link to Hilole Boutique for a piece of furniture that looked high-quality and was offered at a much lower price than other comparable items. I ordered the item (including providing billing and shipping addresses) and paid through PayPal. When I didn't get an order confirmation email, I became suspicious and emailed the contact listed on the website (there's no phone number listed). I then got a delivery failure notification, indicating that it was not a valid email address.

I went back to the site to look more closely, and found several other red flags: product reviews do not match the posted item, high-end clothing and accessories are listed way below normal prices, and links to social media pages are dead ends. A Google search revealed that the site is only 2 months old and that scam monitoring sites advise against purchasing anything from Hilole.

By then it was clear to me that the company is fraudulent. I contacted PayPal, and thankfully they were able to place a hold on the payment, and said that it will be refunded to me.
