Scam

Received a call from Patricia Knight stating my husband needed to be served, and she also gave me a case number. I asked could my county courthouse verify. She became hostile once I called her back to ask more questions. I called her out on her scam artist activities; that is when she started to get mean and aggressive. Please do not pay these people anything!

I just received a call from a John Stevens said he was from Hirschberg & Holtz. He said I owe money for check into cash which I paid off. I set a payment plan but haven't sent the money. Call came from 877-658-0298. Not sure that it's ligit or not. Has me wondering. Just sharing.

I was contacted by a woman saying her name was Patricia Knight. She said she was with a law firm Hirschberg and Holtz and that I was going to be charged with theft of a financial institution and theft by check if I could not pay a debt owed to Cashnet from 2018. She said someone would be at my home or place of work to "serve me". When I asked for a debt validation letter to be sent to me I was tole "we are not a collection agency, we are a law firm. We don't do that" I panicked and paid 1000.00 to these people. The payment went through as Copeland and Klein. I then got my thoughts together and contacted Cashnet directly. They confirmed that I do not have any accounts current or delinquent with them and that they did not do business with any entities by the mentioned names above. The representative at Cashnet told me I had been a victim of a scam. She sent me a letter stating that I did not have any accounts with Cashnet. These people will call and scare the daylights out of you to get your money. They had my full name, address, social, bank information. They sounded very legit on the phone.
