Type of a scam Online Purchase
Thought this website was legitimate. I've never purchased Hoka's before so I wasn't familiar with their website but their website seemed authentic enough to me. The description of the product specified that they were older models of Hoka shoes which explained the steep discount. The website prompted me to make an account early in the shopping process, which isn't terribly unusual. Once my items were selected and I was filling out shipping and billing information the browser defaulted to PayPal. In hindsight, this is unusual but I don't shop much and I tend to have my passwords saved in the browser so the autofill didn't alarm me. Paypal works for me and I didn't think much of it and submitted the payment. I never received a confirmation email for creating an account or for my purchase. Several hours later I received an email from Paypal alerting me that after a review, I would no longer be able to access or use Paypal. I thought that was a scam, ironically enough. Of course when I revisited the site and did a little research, many folks had fallen victim to the same scam. I have started the process of reactivating my Paypal account and trying for a refund.
