I want to relay this info to anyone. i called what i thought was the 800 number for the Holiday Inn in Paducah Ky to make a rsvp. the person on the phone answered "holiday inn", i requested a room and was told that if i needed to cancel up to the minute, i needed to pay another 21.00. i did as this was a room for family possibly coming into town for the 4th of July. my family had to cancel due to circumstances and i emailed the address given to me on july 2nd. they responded and said they would refund me 176.00 but not the full amount.

my advice and what i learned is PLEASE be careful of even phone numbers now, not just links anymore. i didn't pay close enough attention when the phone number popped up for Holiday Inn. i just dialed it and assumed all was legit. i have contacted my credit card and disputing these charges. please dont have to go through this.
