Trying to sell a guitar, I received contact from a buyer in Florida. We agreed on a price of $600, the next thing I new he had sent a cashier check of $2,250. He said the extra amount was to pay the "mover" or shipping cost. Sounds strange to me. The texts back and forth, also seemed very suspicious, almost like a foreigner trying to write in english, plus this person would not return phone calls, only texts.

I canceled the deal, but still have the cashiers check (I told him I would destroy it). It may be nothing but I just wanted to report it in case this is something bigger. Thanks

Again, not sure if this was a scam, but sure seemed strange to me.
