I clicked on the link, and it took me to a page that looked totally legit. There were pictures of the puppies, all kinds of information, and testimonials from people that had purchased puppies from this breeder.
I made contact through the web site, and was immediately contacted. I told Dave which dog I was interested in, and he sent pictures for me. They were the same pictures that he had put on the web site. I did negotiate the price of the pup, and it was to include shipping from Tulsa Oklahoma to Boise, Idaho. I started to get a little suspicious when he pressed me for deposit for the pup. At this point, I was ready to call the whole thing off, and should have gone with my gut. When I told him I was not interested and thought I was being scammed, I told him I would feel more comfortable if we perhaps spoke over the phone. He called me immediately and we spoke. He reassured me he has been breeding beagles for quite sometime, and was an honest christian man. He would not do me wrong. I felt better after speaking to him, so I went ahead and moved forward. He then sent me a signed contract with all the information and his signature. I signed it, returned it, and sent the money. Things looked good at this point and promising. Dave kept in constant contact with me via text, and answered all of my questions immediately. The day the puppy was to ship, he texted me at 7:08am my time saying he was preparing the puppy for shipping and registration. I replied saying thank you asking him to keep me posted. at 9:14am, Dave emailed me asking me if I had heard from them yet? Said he had done the registration and I would be contacted shortly. At this point, I was confused. He then told me to check my email. When I told Dave I didn't understand, he stated the email would explain what the next steps were. I told Dave I had not received any emails so he said he would check the receipt and get me their number. He was at the hospital. His wife was sick and in the ICU. I then replied I received the email and had to then deal with a cargo company for the transport of the puppy. I had told him I wanted the dog delivered to the airport and I would go and pick it up. I needed the flight number and time he would arrive. Dave stated he had a coupon and it covered the shipping cost to have the pup delivered to my home. I said okay, that was fine. I then told Dave I would let him know when the pup arrived. I received the first email of several from the General Cargo and Pet Logistics. The first email was from them was asking me to confirm my address for shipping. I replied to them and then got a phone call telling me to check my email. I replied that I had, and everything was good on my end. I was then told, NO we sent another email for you to check. At this point I knew something was wrong. The second email stated that the crate Dave had supplies to ship the puppy was not safe, and we would need to purchase a Temperature Regulator Crate because the trip was more than 6 hours and the puppy would be traveling in the belly of the plane and could get sick. There were three crates you could select from ranging from $975.00 to $1400.00 in price. Their contract stated the money was REFUNDABLE UPON DELIVERY. Clue #2. At this point, my husband then googled General Cargo and Pet Logistics. This company is located in Dallas TX. Why was Dave using a company not in his own state??? Strange. The ScamPulse.com had several complaints against this company and other people had been scammed. I then contacted Dave via text, and he said he would call me shortly. At this point I knew I was being scammed. I told Dave I was not giving the Cargo company a penny as he included the shipping it the cost I had already paid him. I then told Dave I wanted a refund that I was not going to pay a cent more than want I had already. He could pay for the crate and get the money refunded. He said he didn't have that kind of money either. His text said I'm here with my DYING Wife and I have spent all I have. I told him he was a scam artist and he then said he would refund my money. I then told him you have my address. This was all on 4/20/2019. I have since contacted him via text, letting him know I have no received my refund for the puppy I never received. I texted him again on 4/23/2019 and told him I was still waiting. He claimed he had sent the money and I said I would give the refund until Friday to arrive to me. He told me to just be a little patient. It is now 5/6/2019, and I still have not received anything. I have reached out to him several times, with no reply at all to my text messages.
I am writing this to make everyone aware of this scam and this Cargo Company that is scamming people as well. People have lost a lot of money to them. Some people have paid the fee, and then received another email saying they need to pay additional fees for the insurance of the pet they purchased. This company needs to be held accountable and refund peoples money. It's a shame we live in a world like this.
I thank you for taking the time to let me tell my story.
