Type of a scam Identity Theft
Attention Experian.
I have been the victim of a fraud/identity theft for the Home Depot Entity.
I received a letter from Home Depot’s Revolving Credit Services
(See Attached Copy of the Letter)
1. The letter was addressed ********* ** **** (I do not have a Middle Initial)
2. The letter did not include my Apt No. ** *** 3. The zip code in the letter was incorrect. It read **********.
The correct zip code is **********.
The letter stated that I had applied for a Home Depot Commercial Revolving Charge Card. It was denying me the charge card based on information obtained in a report from the following consumer reporting agency:
Experian
POB **** ****** ** ********** ***** ******** **************** **************** 4. Let me state for the record, I have never applied for a
Home Depot Commercial Revolving Charge Card.
5. 03/17/22, I called the telephone number of ***** *** ****.
This number was at the bottom of the letter under the title of
Manager, Credit Review with no written signature.
6. I spoke to someone who identified herself as Allison.
Allison stated that the person who applied for the above had the following---My ************ *********** *** ***** This person applied on 3/10/22 for a commercial not a consumer account.
7. Allison stated that she would void the application and would request that your credit bureau report be removed from my name.
8. Allison then advised me that she would transfer me to Citibank because Citibank underwrites Home Depot’s Commercial Revolving Charge Card. This transfer was supposed to put me in touch with Citibank Identity Theft Solutions.
9. I was transferred to someone who called herself Ashley at
Citibank Identity Theft Solutions. The telephone number that I was transferred to was *** *** ****. Ashley advised me that this was going to be a 25minute process that would involve her putting a statement on my credit report that I had been the victim of fraud & identity theft.
Ashley proceeded to ask for my SSN, DOB, Full Address, etc.
Allison who I had just spoken with had said that they already had this information. I decided to terminate this call.
I then went to my local police precinct, the **** ******** ******* ** *** **** **** ******* *** ***** ** ****** * ***** **** ****** ******** ******** ******* ******* provided me with an
Incident Information Slip for Identity Fraud & Identity Theft.
The complaint no. for the Incident Information Report is
**************** **** ******** ******** *********** ***** ******* ********* ****** *** ** *****.
I am writing this letter to advise your company of this fraud and identity theft action that I have been the victim of by individuals posing that they were working on behalf o* **** ***** * ********.
I would like my credit report to reflect the above---
Victim of Fraud & Identity Theft.
In addition, I would like a written response that the above request has been reflected in my credit report.
