I called and was told by Olona (sp?) that the fee to look at my fridge was $80 and if I go ahead with the repair, the $80 is deducted from the cost of the labour. The tech came, and quoted me $231.68 for the part and $240 for the labour and I agreed to the repair to be performed once the part came in - the quote listed the parts and the labour separately. He asked for a deposit of $402.10 and I paid but had a change of heart so I called and e-mailed before 08:30 the next day (so less than 24 hours) asking them to refund all but $80+tax but I was told that I still had to pay the $240+tax labour fee for the quote and that I was getting a refund of only $130.90 towards the part. She said I had signed off on it (I thought it was the same company I had used in the past so I blindly signed the quote (labelled as a quote on the form) not an invoice. She also confirmed in a phone message later that the parts were not ordered so no 15% restocking fee. There are two blurbs about the parts and labour cost that contradict the quote. One blurb says that the fee is for work performed at the time of the quote without parts (but that was not my situation) and the other says that the cost of the part includes installation but if that is the case, why didn't the tech specify that the labour is included in the cost of the part? I tried to speak to Olona about it but she would not let me speak; she just kept talking over me so I said it was absurd that I am paying for work that was not yet preformed and that I would take it up with my credit card company and hung up. Question is: if I was paying for work performed on the same night as the quote, why would they leave a balance owing? And if the $240 was just for checking and quoting, why was was I quoted $80? Please note: the reviews for this company are bad but I didn't check because I thought I was calling the company I have used before because the names are similar so I screwed up - lesson learned!
