They also said no money needs to be paid until the job is completed, which I found to be different form the pay up front style. The verbal quote sounded reasonable;e for parging and cement work. They want to start on the job right the next day. So, I signed.
After I went inside and read the contract, I wanted to stall on it for a bit, to do some more thinking, and research on the company.
That's how I am finding out that they are likely a scam.
The E-mail I sent to the company to tell them to hold off coming, returned with a person not related to the company, and was nice enough to tell me that he has been getting E-mails from Canada about shoddy contractors. RED FLAG !!!!
The cell number on the contract paper which is (647) 781-2793, is the same voicemail of one of the guys I saw in the company Pick-up truck. They have not returned my cancellation call as of yet. Will call tomorrow, so I'm hoping I am just overreacting at this point.
The Phone numbers are different too on the website as well, from the paper phone number too. One is Tel: 647 762 4813, the second one is Tel: 647 766 0754, none are on the paper quote/contract.
