After receiving our tax refund we decided to use it to fix our old house that is breaking apart. My wife and I searched through the internet for someone that could help us out and we found Robert Boyd from offer up, feeling glad that we once called him before when we first bought the house around October, 3 2022. but we couldn't use him then because he wanted the money through apple pay and at the time we didn't have apple pay. So this time when Robert Boyd came to our house we discussed explaining to him how we are expecting a baby in few months and our first baby is going to be celebrating her 5th birthday she has been begging us to allow her invite her friends which we already gave her our consent. When Robert Boyd came to the house to pick up the down deposit for the job and he promised to start the next Monday. But he didn't show up. I called him and pleaded with him that as he can see my wife is heavily pregnant and I didn't want anything that will stress the baby or her out, he promised to come before Friday. He was meant to paint the house, remove the wood floor and install tiles and also change the carpet in the rooms and he charged us $8,500 we both agreed he get half of the amount because of what he told us he will need to do. 1)buy some Equipment and products from Home Depot. 2) hire some men to help him out. 3) he was going to rent the dump truck for the job. so I tried to work with him but he never showed up, I called him so many times and he stopped picking up my calls then some days later he called and said a $100 and $50 dollars out of the $4,250.00 my wife gave him was fake and he wanted us to give him an extra $150 after he already collected the $4,250.00. So we told him to bring the $150 dollar back to us so we can take it back to the bank for exchange. He said no. But he wanted us to send him $150 through cash app before evening that very day. so we said to him we cannot send you another amount and he hung up the phone, but my wife called him back, pleaded with him and told him to just come and paint the house instead of fixing the floor since that was his area of specialty, thinking maybe he could not really do the floor. then he agreed. to come and paint the house instead of installing the tiles and changing the carpets. So I went and bought the paint but he never showed up. All our efforts to work with him was to no avail. He didn't show mercy despite seeing that my wife was heavily pregnant. He never showed up again or picked our calls again. We could not get in touch with him till now. We could not celebrate my daughter 5th birthday. And after my wife gave birth she was depressed because of the whole issue with the house and Robert Boyd Robbing us and absconding with our $4,250.00.
