Two guys, Alex Greener and Mike, came to the door on Sept.23, pointed out the dilapidated state of our chimney, climbed on the roof and took a video which confirmed their assessment. They also mentioned some shingles missing on the roof. We agreed on the price to be paid in three stages and they gave one reference in our neighbourhood. I talked to that homeowner who needed the front steps parged, paid up-front, had the work done and was satisfied. Both men arrived as agreed with two workers and took the old chimney down, received the second installment and came back the next day with bricks, mortar, liner etc. They built the new chimney two thirds up and asked for the final payment on Friday Sept. 27 which I made on Sept.28. That was the last time I saw them though they said they would come back to secure a tarp against wind and rain. Two neighbours came by to whom our address was given as a reference. So far 8 phone calls remained unanswered and I believe that I have been had.
