Amount: CAD 34,310
Business committed to Master washroom, hallway washroom, foyer, kitchen, and powder room. demolition, plumbing, electrical, tiling, painting, light fixtures, mirrors, powder room, and shower glass door systems. All work included labor & material
Nature of dispute: contractor took 90% of payments within first week of starting work. did not follow said payment structure outlined in the contract. said he needed to buy material (vanities, glass, faucets, tile etc). Apparently, he ordered $7000 worth of shower glass which never showed up. He ordered $6700 worth of vanities which also never showed up. always plays the victim when questioned about work or where he is. he had completed 25% of the work when he stopped showing up. He agreed to refund us some of the money for the work which he didn't complete but we never received that refund. when we questioned him about it, he said that the bank cheques have not cleared and his business account does not have money to refund us. there is no update from him after that point,
