We are in the market for a family pet and found a website for what appeared to be a backyard breeder of Dachshunds in New Jersey on a website called www.homeofdachshunds.com.

My wife made email and telephone contact to enquire about the dogs available and requested additional images and videos of the dogs which were provided.

We selected a dog, provided our shipping information and made payment via Zelle and were told that the shipping details and confirmation would be provided over the next couple of days. On reflection, we felt it might be a scam and made up a story about wanting to change our minds and requested a refund and have not heard anything since.

Looking into the website we found that it does not appear in searches (Google) and even though homeofdachshunds.com does not appear in scam lists, tracing the images on the website led to a known scam website www.adamsdachshunds.com which appears in a scam list on www.petscams.com.

I attempted to purchase a puppy. He is one of many who is advertising puppies for sale - using fake pictures, videos. Says he breeds, trains, socializes, sells. Has papers and will ship. Had a 50% off sale! I didn't buy into it but others may.
