I was looking for a house to rent as i was planning on moving out with a friend. We found a house on Facebook Marketplace i was messaging the person through facebooks messenger app. We planned a day to come see the house, the person “leasing” the house was not there when we arrived. We were told that we would be seeing this house by ourselves and was guided on how to get the unlock code for the lock to access the key to be able to get into the house on “AMH.com”. He guided me through the website and i was able to get a code to see the inside of the house. We toured the house thinking it was a good fit for us and he sent a link for a “lease application” on (jotform.com). I filled out the information and he then asked for a first and last months rent and a deposit through “chime”. His Chime account is “$Brian-Bonner-12”. That wasn’t working, so we tried a different method of payment, Apple Pay, he gave me another number which was “(331) 277-4401”. I sent $1000 for a deposit and then first and last months “rent” which was $1820 and $1820. He then did not talk to me after that. The main number i was communicating to him with was (915) 258-7215. I contacted Apple Pay to try to cancel the transaction since it was pending, but Apple Pay said nothing can be done since i approved to send the money. I contacted the local police and filled out a financial crime. And contacted my bank to see if they can cancel or track the money but no success through the bank.
