Home Warranty Mail Phishing Scam Reports & Reviews (1)

- Westfield, MA, USA • Oct 29, 2024

My Mom received a letter by mail from Wade Grant/Program Director of Home Warranty Division. It said that her "home warranty" would be expiring by 11/5/24 and to keep it up-to-date, she needed to call 1-888-404-4504 as soon as possible. She lives in an apartment and has no "home warranty" so she told me about it. When I called, the company didn't identify themselves and I was transferred to a person named "Julian". I told him about the letter. He asked for the Customer ID which on the letter was 289LD60632. I told him that my Mom has an apartment so has no need for a home warranty and hasn't had one. He had her name and address. The address had her apartment number on it. He said, "Oh this is an apartment. I'll take her name off the list. Tell her to please disregard any future mail she may receive."

I think this was an attempt to scam my Mom into purchasing an unrequested/unneeded home warranty thru this company. Fortunately, my Mom called me so I could follow-up, but it upset and worried her.

Thank-you.
