I received a postcard saying it is my Final Notice (have not received a card previously) saying "my name (misspelled): Gift card vouchers worth $500.00 are being reserved for you at our main processing center. Please call us now, toll free, at 1-877-515-7057 to learn how to receive them. Warning: failure to call may result in an automatic forfeiture of your gift card vouchers. Terms apply. Please call at once for details. Reward Center Hours: M-S 9am-10pm ET claim Number 221993888." The other side says their records indicate I have gift card vouchers pending. "We are holding gift card vouchers worth $500.00 in savings for you good at Walmart, Target and more -- in your name!" then to call them to claim my gift card vouchers as soon as possible. I did not call - thought probably a scam - no postmark or return address or company name, and offering vouchers mean you will never be able to actually use the supposed gift card money. Then seeing what google pulls up under the phone number, guess I was right not to call and let you know.

The lady tried to tell me that my home insurance had expired. When I explained how I pay my home insurance, she tried to tell me it had nothing to do with the insurance included in my mortgage. She put up a fake fight, but I was not impressed. I just want these people to stop sending these fake letters out. There are innocent people who are very vulnerable to paying their bills, and this is not one.

"Zachary" attempted to renew a non existing home warranty policy for$860. When I asked for details about the company who held this policy he evaded. When I told him that I believed it was a scam, he offered to take me off the mailing list if I would provide my "customer ID" At this point I told him to stop scamming people and he hung up

Received unsolicited home warranty solicitation.

- Seattle, WA, USA • Sep 11, 2024

Scammer - tried to tell me they are a home warranty and scare me into thinking it was a mandatory item with my mortgage lender.

- Bangor, MI, USA • Sep 07, 2024

Mailed official looking home warranty letter referring to my home loan with the USDA.

Phone number, but no company name or address. Message said to call M-F 7am-7pm CST, Sat 10am-4pm CST.

This sounds like mail fraud. A real business has a name and address listed and probably a website. This one has only a name, title and phone number.

Home Protection Programs selling fake home warranty coverage for our new home purchase. Several threatening letters received advising us to activate coverage immediately and call immediately or 'be responsible for any and all repairs once on the coverage on the property expires.'

This company purports to be a home warranty company, and they sent a letter to my dead father at my home address. This company purports to sell home warranties, and does not provide a name of the company or a location anywhere. The mail always claims that you must act now because "you HAVE NOT CONTACTED" them to update a home warranty so you might be financially liable for anything that happens. The bold type lettering on the mailing is always designed to put fear in people that they have not done something they have to do. My elderly mother has also received letters from this company at her home in Florida.

Notified by mail that a warranty on my home was about to expire. It implied that such a warranty was required by my mortgage lender. It encouraged me to buy such a warranty. When I contacted my mortgage lender, I was told they required no such warranty.

I received a post card on Friday stating this is your warranty activation notice advising you to contact our office so you don't have a lapse in your coverage. Please call the number provided to replace electrical, mechanical systems outside the home. I tried contacting them and there was a recording saying they were closed. They had a picture of my house.

Vague piece of postal mail delivered that referenced my mortgage lender on front. Once perforated tabs opened, revealed a faux check (no MICR line or regulatory standards), but $199.00 under an 'Allocated Waiver' description. Attention notice was of the 'Final' variety and just referenced our names, address, and that our mortgage was facing the loss of some allocated waiver within 7 days if contact is not made immediately.

Received postcard with my spouse’s correct name and address imprinted on it, bearing the message that a warranty for our home ‘mechanical systems’ was going to expire and needed to be renewed for ongoing ‘protection’. Was directed to call the phone number on the card to make payment (no payment amount indicated). Postcard bore no company name or website, only the telephone number reported. The card looked like an official government mailing, without postage but stamped as if sent by an official government agency (none identified) with wording to indicate official U.S. bulk mailing that (allegedly) had been mailed from a U.S. city, possibly St. Lewis, MO, ( I can’t remember the exact city now, and am not be 100% certain, but I do recall that it indicated it had been sent from somewhere in the Midwest USA, not Washington DC, which I thought odd). Unfortunately, I shredded the card after I realized it was a scam and before I decided to report it to the BBB.
