Home warranty solicitation letter Reports & Reviews (22)

- Miami, FL, USA • Jun 05, 2024

I received the mail telling me "it is my final notice to activate my warranty or risk paying for all repairs myself. Registration is required for continual protection." It listed my address and zip code with a fake registration ID and a Florida license number . It also stated that they were a property lienholder falsely.

- Boulder City, NV, USA • Mar 14, 2024

This was a blatant attempt to "renew" a home warranty on our property with a company with whom we've never done business. They used our FORMER lender's information, a dubious "Property ID" number and our exact address to feign realism in their approach. They also attached an official looking check with watermarks front and back that bears the description, "Registration Fee Voucher" with a dollar amount of $299 and my name and address in the "To The Order Of" listing.

- Ava, MO, USA • Feb 22, 2024

I received a letter in mail in plain envelope stating I needed this warranty to be in compliance with my reverse mortgage. I called the number, I told them I was in compliance. I also told them I would call my mortgage company. They said they would call and put me on a conference call with them. I refused.

home warranty expiring

- Salt Lake City, UT, USA • Jan 18, 2024

I received a letter implying that it was from a previous mortgage loan company I had used. It claimed to be from a home warranty dept urging me to contact them about my supposedly expiring home warranty.

- Fort Lauderdale, FL, USA • Jan 18, 2024

Received 2 letters, re warranty expiring. Listing repairs costs. Asking to call. I never responded.

- Maricopa, AZ, USA • Jan 11, 2024

Appears to be a letter sent off public information of recently purchased houses. The call to action is, "We reserve the right to revoke allocated waiver after 7 days of receiving this notice." Has what looks like a check at first glance with a dollar amount of $199.00. No bank or routing information and says, "THIS IS NOT A CHECK."... Also attempting to go after Spanish speakers with, "Se Habla Espanol: 888-572-0611."

- Osseo, MN, USA • Jan 02, 2024

Letter pretending to look like a bank or government letter saying:

IMMEDIATE RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE REQUESTED

FINAL NOTICE

Notice Date: 12/15/2023 Contact Phone: 1-800-998-2236 Property ID: [number here that I don't know if it is actually identifiable information for my property] Respond by: 01/12/2024

Call to verify the above i]nformation BEFORE THE RESPONSE DATE EXPIRES!

Lender info: Wells Fargo Bk NA

IMMEDIATE RESPONSE REQUESTED

ATTENTION: [name of my daughter who is in college and has not taken out a loan on my home nor purchased my home nor had anything to do with my home loan or a loan of her own]

This letter is to inform you that the property's home warranty at [my home address] secured by Wells Fargo BK NA, may be expiring or may have already expired. Our records indicate that you HAVE NOT CONTACTED us yet to get your home warranty up to date. Please call IMMEDIATELY as this will be our FINAL ATTEMPT TO NOTIFY YOU.

the letter goes on to mention being at risk financially, before it's too late, we reserve the right to revoke type of stuff. They also include what looks like a check for a "Registration fee voucher" for $299.00 "Document has a blue background and microprinting, back has an artificial watermark, hold at an angle to view, void if not present" is written across the top of the voucher as well as a "property ID number". There is tiny print saying they "are not affiliated with your current mortgage holder."

This letter is folded to be the envelope. on the back/envolpe side the return address section says in large font "2023" and other phrases are on the envelope saying "IMMEDIATE RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE REQUESTED" "SIGNATURE REQUIRED" "CURRENT OR PREVIOUS LEINHOLDER: WELLS FARGO Bk NA" and in extra large bold font "FINAL NOTICE". The corner where a stamp would go has a printing of "United States Mail presorted standard us postage paid Ft. Lauderdale, FL Permit No. 4810 Mailed from zip code 33310" with a bald eagle and stars. The letter is designed to scare the reciever into thinking it is something important and calling. I did not call and did not use or sign the voucher.

- Avella, PA, USA

Received mail with a voucher for $199.00 "This letter is to inform you about an important matter regarding the property at **" and had our mortgage lender listed. Stated "we reserve the right to revoke the allocated waiver after 7 days of receiving this notice. Please call immediately as this will be our final attempt to notify you". Listed hours of operation, Spanish phone number, home owner ID, etc. No company name or return address or identifying information other than listing the two phone numbers. East coast zip code, hours of operation CST.

- Edwardsville, IL, USA

I've received repeated mailings from this group saying my home warranty secured by my mortgage lender has expired or may have already expired. I bought my current home in May 2020 during the peak surge of covid-19. I obtained a bridge loan to cover that expense until I could get a buyer and a closing on the previous home. That took 6 months in total. This company has no idea if I even still have a mortgage. Today the "final notice" (not their first time sending a final notice) includes a check to me for $299.00 that expires 11/17/23 encouraging me to "contact us immediately" to secure a resumption of said warranty. I don't think there was ever a warranty from that lender and by now this is a moot point anyway. At the bottom under this "check" it clearly states "Not all consumers have previous coverage. We are not affiliated with your current mortgage holder." These mailings need to stop. I've lost track of how many I've received. I will file a report to the FTC also.

Received via postal mail, "Final Notice" regarding a Home Warranty I never had needing to be renewed. Check attached for $299.00 to be used as "Registration Fee Voucher". Likely nothing more than a marketing ploy aimed at elderly to trick into purchase of home warranty.. I do not nor have I ever had a home warranty secured by my lender.

The scammer knew who was my lender and had my home address which was used to send the mail.

Scammers is trying to get elderly to think their lender is trying to collect this. Using "call immediately; final attempt to notify, right to revoke eligbility for coverage in 5 days... Makes elderly think since Lenders name looks like it was sent is going to cx insurance coverage. But it is a scam to pressure elderly to buy into over priced home repair insurance for ac, water heater, refrigerator etc...

Received uploaded letter in the mail. Appears to be a scam. Researched various websites. Did not respond to the letter request for a call.

Received a "final notice" addressed to our name and current address for home warranty. Attached was a tear off Warranty Voucher for $299.00, looked like a check but unsigned. It was cited as their final attempt to contact us. Also noted was what they called our Lender Info. This name was not our lender's name but WAS a small bank we had previously dealt with. We recognized this as a scam and will take to our current bank (which had bought our old one) so they will be aware of the scam.

On the envelope in the return sender location, it says it's from County Deed Records with my lender info. It also has a picture of my home and vehicles along with my husband getting in his vehicle. I have attached a copy of this letter. Our name and address blacked out for privacy reasons. This company gives you the impression it is from our county and home loan company. Which is false. It is bad enough to be harassed by these types of businesses either by mail or phone.

They have gone too far when they take pictures of our homes and paste them on a letter of this type. This is an invasion of our privacy!

- Salt Lake City, UT, USA

I got sent an official looking piece of mail labeled "FINAL NOTICE", and seeing as i don't get any other mail and i have been in my current living situation for several years, this was a bit confusing and i knew something was off. Opening it, it seemed to warn me about a home warranty. Thing is, I live with my parents and they own the house. Their name is on the deed, the home loan, everything. There's no way someone is contacting me about a home warranty and not my parents. The letter wanted me to call a number and sign a check for a "registration fee voucher". While I'm concerned how this scammer got my name and address, I'm more worried for folks who may have a harder time telling that this is a scam.
