We were looking into rescuing a dog, we found two a mom and daughter pair on Facebook. Then went to the shelter website and they had a summary about both dogs saying they were owner surrendered 3 yrs and 3 months. We reached out on email and our application was approved for the dogs. They said the process was you send a deposit and with that money they take the dogs to the vet and get all their shots. Then they transport them to Connecticut, we live in Mass so it’s only the next state over. We pay the remaining money when we receive the dogs. Deposit was $300. On email we confirmed it was $400 for the both dogs. They then sent a number we’d get further instructions from about the process. So money was sent for a deposit and then they said they needed $300 for each dog. I told them I felt skeptical about this and they told me they were a nonprofit shelter and all the money goes to the vet and transportation and I just needed to trust it. So another $300 was sent, then they told us another $500 was needed because the second $300 wasn’t received. I sent them $600 total. I wasn’t about to send $500 more. I didn't send anymore money and they now stopped answering. I’m out of $600 because I was trying to get two dogs out of a shelter. I wasn’t trying to go to a breeder, they’re scamming people just trying to save a dog. I feel sick about this.
