We hired Coastal Companies, LLC aka REAL Retail Co (Owner Carlo Camarena) to complete a renovation job at our Phoenix, AZ office. We paid him 2 separate checks totaling $7500 at the end of June. Both checks have been cashed and he never completed any work, has not started the job and has now disconnected his phone number. Prior to this we referred him to 2 other friends/clients (I am a real estate broker), the first client hired him to paint the exterior of their residence which he required an upfront payment through Zelle of $3,125. This amount was paid in March 2024 & work has not been done at their property. He was contacted several times with each time providing an excuse why he couldn't be there or would tell them he would show up a certain time/date & just never show. Client #2 hired him at the beginning of July to paint the interior of their Glendale, AZ residence, he required an upfront payment of $2,975, which is the total amount quoted for the job. He showed up 1 day to do some preparation work patching a couple walls & never showed up again. He was contacted by this client and was given the same answers as client #1. I had to then hire and pay another contractor to make this right and complete the work so the home could be listed for sale. We reached out to Mr. Camarena on several occasions, he responded 3 times, all from different phone numbers that he would call us "later" but has yet to return any calls and is now no longer responding at all. We advised him we were filing a police report. Police reports were 8/12/24 with the City of Phoenix, 8/13/24 report filed by Client #2 in the City of Glendale and report from Client #1 with the City of Gilbert is forthcoming. We have collectively paid him over $13,000 and he is now no longer reachable.
