Found a product offered for sale at this website at a considerable discount from the full retail price. Contacted the website via the built-in chat feature to ask if the item was new, or used. And how shipping was handled. A live person at the website responded very quickly and answered every question I had quickly. That person said the item was new, and shipping was direct from the manufacturer and would be free. I ordered the item and was directed to pay via installment payments via a third party website called AfterPay. One quarter of the full amount was paid, and I was told shipping would take place within 3 or so business days. Just after the third business day, the status of the order said refunded. But, nothing was refunded. I contacted the website HomesAppliancez.com via email and chat to inquire what happened. I told them the I still wanted the item, and that I needed to know what was going on. They never responded to multiple attempts to contact them about the issue, over various days. I contacted my credit card company and filed a dispute. The credit card company refunded the amount I was charged. I looked into the website online to see if the site is known to be a scam. Apparently, the website was created only a number of days before I found the item. And, the site shows signs that the people who run it are actively trying to hide their identity. I also suspect that their physical address may be totally made up. At this point, I am assuming the website is just an elaborate scam website, as they don't seem to provided anything after being paid.
