Yesterday afternoon (August 6th) I booked a flight to Santiago for business and booked a hotel room through the hotel values website to stay from August 8th to August 10th. This seemed very weird because I thought I was booking through the hotel's website directly. They charged me over USD100 for services and fees that were not listed with the total amount, which would be charged on my credit card, but I was happy I at least had a free cancellation fee - or so I thought.

This morning (August 7th) I received an email from LATAM saying my flight had been cancelled and that I needed to reschedule. The only other available date my business meeting could be held was on monday and tuesday (August 12th and 13th).

I tried to reschedule the room, via telephone, but to my surprise, not only could I NOT change the reservation dates, I couldn't cancel the hotel without A FULL CANCELLATION FEE. The cancellation free policy only applied until 4am August 7th Santiago time. IN NO PART OF MY CONFIRMATION did it clearly state that I had to cancel before 4am on August 7th (considering the usual is 24hours before). This only appeared on my email AFTER I had already paid for the hotel.

This is absurd seeing as I only wanted to change the dates, not cancel, and I paid extra for no cancellation fee.

I just want to reschedule my stay without having to pay for the room AGAIN. I tried calling, but the person on the phone who works for hotelvalues was of no help whatsoever.

I booked a hotel through this website. The rate given was $145. By clicking the book button I ended up getting charged $225. I understand that hotels have taxes and fees. I also understand that these booking websites may charge a service fee. The hotel gave me an invoice. The room and fees totaled $150.85. The room rate was $134.00 which is $10 less than what this booking service. The booking website charged me $11.20 in resort fees and then $69.42. The taxes from the hotel totaled $16.16. This booking website is charging hidden fees after people hit the booking button. Others have mentioned this company online by name because astronomical hidden fees were charged.
