I went to the Dolce Seaview resort website to make a room reservation. I made the reservation and when I received an email with reservation number I noticed it came from a @hotelvalue.com address. I immediately became suspicious and clicked on the email to cancel the reservation. Upon cancelling, the email said that their cancellation policy was the full cost of the reservation of $410.35. This all occurred within 5 minutes! Dolce by Wyndham has a 48 hour cancellation period. I now realized that this was a scam site that posed as the Dolce site. I frequently book travel and this site was identical to the Wyndham site. I called the number provided in the email and did not receive an answer so requested a call back. I received a call back several hours later and they basically said their policy is no refunds and it was our problem. When I asked to reinstate the reservation they refused to do so. Now through further research I am learning that this site has thousands of reports of being a scam and that even if they reinstated the room, I wouldn't actually have a room reservation when I arrive. I have emailed them again requesting a refund and they refuse. I would like my money refunded and this site shut down! Terrible scam!
