A few weeks ago I applied to a job posting on Indeed for a Data Entry Clerk position. This job turned out to be an elaborate scheme to convince employees to help with payroll while waiting for data entry work. I was asked to help pay new hires like me who were not yet on their payroll and other miscellaneous vendors. Seemed harmless enough, but they sent me a check through FedEx and I put the check into my bank account then withdrew cash and redistributed that cash to other various accounts. I did this for four days and four checks and ended up losing $31,500.

These guys are still preying on innocent people and I have been looking for them on Indeed and have found another job posting identical to the one I applied to. Now they are going by Allan Contractors and Athenics Contractors and are still active in Knoxville, TN and Richmond, VA.

Here is an email from them to me.

Good Day, We have reviewed your resume and we would like to invite you to interview for the Remote - Data Entry Clerk / Administrative Assistant Job interview, We think you might be a great fit for the position. This company offers medical and dental insurance, long-term disability, sick leave, life insurance, 401K, and profit sharing are available. This position is paying $27.95 Per hour plus incentives.

INTERVIEW INSTRUCTIONS

We would like to schedule an interview with you right now if possible. You are required to set up a Gmail account for the job briefing and interview, download a Gmail hangout/google talk messenger to your PC or Phone.. Please Invite Mrs Donna Neal, the Research & Recruitment Manager for Athenics Contractors . on Gmail Hangout or Google talk messenger ( [email protected] ) and message her for the Job Interview. This is our first step to proceed further. She will be expecting to hear from you soon.
