I was contacted about an old debt and put on a payment plan. The debt matched what was on my credit. I paid 5 monthly installments of $150 after the initial $300 deposit. A guy named Edward Russo was the contact. The other day I received a judgement letter from the ACTUAL debtor. I called to see what was going on only to find out that my debt had not in fact been paid. I paid this off last year. The real collector reached out and was to get back to me. That was June 17th the fake company called to follow up June 28th. I immediately called the numbers I had to find non working numbers. These people even sent me a payment plan email on business letter head! I am out $1000! Plus my actual debt amount. I cried for hours.
