He then told me he would call me from the jail’s phone number to verify his legitimacy. The incoming call showed up as the correct number for the Howard County Jail (Kokomo Indiana). He said I couldn’t go to the jail or call the jail back to verify and threatened to revoke my bond immediately since he already verified the phone number was the jails
I [censored]ically gave them my CC number and he said it verified it was mine but there was a problem with his system and if need to go to grocery to make a payment since the courthouse was closed and that he could do $600. At the Walgreens he instructed me to get a green dot Money (the one that is just cardboard and not an a plastic card) for $500 and not to tell the cashiers why I was there. I told them there was an issue with my CC and went to the jail and they confirmed it was a scam.
During the phone call I could hear what sounded like a police radio and him talking to other “police officers”.
I immediately called my CC company and cancelled my card which did not show any fraudulent purchases yet.
