My friend from church who is also my friend on fb messenger posted that her company was looking to hire a part time, work from home, data entry clerk. Pay was $25/hour and $15/hour for one week of training and orientation. I reached out to her on fb messenger to get more info. and she responded to me and sent me a link to MS Teams to

Speak with their HR department. The person doing the interview said his name was William Slattery and he conducted a virtual interview via MSTeams and after an hour or so said I passed the qualifications test and would love to have me join the team. He emailed me my offer letter which I signed and sent back. Then he asked me if I had any credit cards and if there were any available balances on them. I said yes but what’s that have to do with anything and here’s the catch…they said they would PAY OFF MY CREDIT CARD TO A ZERO BALANCE AND THEN I WOULD TURN AROUND AN PURCHASE A LAPTOP, IPHONE AND SOFTWARE FROM THEIR VENDOR TO DO THE JOB CORRECTLY. I was like wow that’s unheard of and should have listened to my instincts but I unfortunately did not. When they sent me over their account number and routing number for me to add to my (2) credit cards as a secondary means of payment I had some issues. This is where they get smart. They asked me what kind of issues I was having and said what institution doesn’t want to take money? Then they said SEND ME A SCREEN SHOT OF WHAT THE CREDIT CARD SITE IS SAYING and that’s when they get you. My account number and routing number were on that screen shot and I was now a victim of fraudulent activity. Thankfully my Navy Federal Credit Card suspended my card for suspicious activity before allowing me to do this transaction but now these pieces of crap have my bank account number and routing number and can try to take all my money out of my account. Luckily I have a separate savings account linked on one app so I transferred all my money in there until the next day when I could call Santander and report this and change my account number and routing number. Also, my friend who posted this job on fb was hacked and it wasn’t even her who contacted me to begin with.

If you use social media be very very careful. These losers are very very sneaky.
