They tried to pose as Lutheran North Academy hiring for an Office Assistant on ZipRecruiter. They used the same phone number that someone else mentioned as a scam: (434) 533-9130. They used an email [email protected] which is not the same email that Lutheran North uses.
It sucks because they seem legit on ZipRecruiter. You can't tell that they're a scam until they contact you first, and by then, they already have so much of your information.

This company offered me a work from home position and sent me a check to purchase office equipment and had me mobile deposit it into my bank account and then asked me to send money to a seperate company "their vendor" in increments of $500 with the last increment of $300 through ZELLE, a money transfer service through my bank app. I immediately became suspicious and contacted my local bank branch who stated this is a scam. Do not proceed with any transaction and do not use the money they sent as it will later be removed from my account and I would have sent my own money to them.
