I was emailed for an interview from [email protected] posing as ********** ******* *********. This is a fake email, posing as a legit company. They are knocking off ********** ******* *************, of which I also emailed directly and they replied and confirmed that was a fraudulent email and is not affiliated with them, nor were any of the people I had been in contact with (fraud peoples names are: Phil McCarty, Elizabeth Stanford, and Grace Adams). The job position was a job I actually did apply for on LinkedIn and was also posted on ********** ******* *************. Upon interviewing and being offered the position, during onboarding they asked for upfront costs to cover shipping the work equipment, a cost of $599. Then it grew to a total of $4,049 to cover the cost of the equipment which was to be reimbursed. They sent me a poorly edited check via online chat for me to deposit. The signature was poorly copy and pasted on the signature line and the check it self was missing info such as the companies address, bank info and watermarks, and at that point I knew it was fake and backed out simply by stating my bank wont accept this and I cannot cover any upfront costs. Unfortunately, I did send them my drivers license and bank account info via email before I realized it was a scam.
