"After reviewing your application, our online recruitment team has recommended you for the position and you've been shortlisted for a virtual screening interview session with one of our recruiter at 10AM tomorrow, Tuesday 10/31/2023." Please contact the team at this email "[email protected]" to acknowledge the receipt of this message and you will receive the steps to your session. Best Regards, Hiring Department Lutheran North Academy. I accepted the interview via text and was told the interview would be through Microsoft teams basically the interview was through a chat no visual of the individual. The name of the individual was James Garner he asked all the right interview question via chat and I responded via chat. To make a long story short I was offered the position the day after the interview and was sent a fake attached offer letter and a fake email from Lutheran North Academy. I was sent a fake check to purchase equipment while waiting for the check to clear was asked if I could pay the vendor a delivery fee of $700 through Zelle to deliver and setup the equipment. That's really when I caught on and called Lutheran North Academy to asked for James Garner and found out this was all a SCAM, have received numerous calls concerning this postion with their company and found out they did not post this position and is not hiring for this position. Thank God! I did not send the money through Zelle. However, I immediately contacted the three credit bureaus and froze my credit, filed a police report and filed a report identity theft report with (FTC) Federal Trade Commission. I sure do not want this to happen to anyone else I thought I was the one who could spot a scam right off, but apparently not. If I can pass along a valuable tip, please make sure you pay attention to the emails that are sent you. In my cast I did not pay attention to the email. The fake email said, lutherannorthedu.org. the real email is luthernnorth.org recognizing little things like this could say you a scam attack.
