Type of a scam Employment
I received an email from Ollie Deeney, in which directed me to contact Mrs. Christina Bonnichsen via Zoom for an online interview.
After the interview, I was sent a Job Offer Letter and other new hire forms to fill out, sign and return to her email address; [email protected]. Which I did. Today I received 2 checks via FedEx for the purchase of software and equipment needed. $5120 and $5525. I was asked to deposit them immediately and send them a picture confirming the deposit. All of this made me very suspicious, so I started searching how to identify a scam. I found the Santander Bank branch that's at the address on the checks and called them. Jose Gomez helped me to determine that the checks are most likely not real, as the account number on the checks is not real. He also said the web address used on the checks for the bank is also not correct.
