I applied for a Remote Personal Assistant position through LinkedIn and was asked via inbox to email them directly. During the “onboarding” process I was mailed a check and was instructed to use the deposited amount for my cost of equipment as well as my first weeks pay. My bank later informed me that the check I received had been altered and my account was then frozen.
