I was contacted about an item I had listed for sale on Facebook marketplace, the buyer stated that he would send a cashiers check and once I received it and deposited the check he would schedule movers to pick up the item. After a few days I received the fraudulent cashiers check (undenounced to me at the time) from Pennsylvania for $2,350 which was well over the amount that I had listed the item for ($1,400). The buyer told me at that time that the extra was for a moving company and that I needed to pay them so I deposited the check in the bank. The buyer was very pushy about making sure I sent the additional money to HS NEO LLC immediately so that he can have them pick up the item that weekend. I sent the money from my own funds as the check did not yet clear and he said the "movers" would be there that weekend. On the day of the pick up he informed me that his wife passed away and that he was no longer going through with the purchase. At that time I realized that the whole process was a scam to get me to send money to the fake company. I did not yet let the buyer know that I was aware of the scam and he attempted to get me to send back the remaining amount.
