I received a text message from a "Mr. Faris Shamon, the head of HR & Admin of (Hyflux Limted)," saying my resumed had been received and forwarded and "let me know once you get this." I responded and was told that my resume had "been received and reviewed by human resources (Texas Work Force)" and that I had been selected for an online interview with Mr. Shamon right now. It then asked me for my email account. Suspicious, I looked up the company and saw that it was a real company, but several searches down I noticed this was a common scam and that the scammers used a real business name to add credibility. I responded that I wanted more clarification. I was told to download a "Google talk app (hangouts)" using my email and to add [email protected] "for more information and interview...." When I asked what the position was, he sent back a laundry list of potential jobs (at least 25). I responded that I thought this was a scam and would be notifying the BBB and the Attorney General's office, to which he responded "Alright stay blessed!!!"

I was texted about going on Google Hangouts for an online interview. They said it was an accounting position with a salary of $35/hr. I completed the online interview and they said I was hired. I was sent a check of aprox. $5,000 to buy materials needed for the job. I took the check to the bank and they said it was a fraud before depositing it.
