They were a small cattery, specializing in Russian Blue and Siamese cats.
After receiving a quick answer about a Russian Blue male kitten and filling up a information sheet about my life style, ability to care for a cat, I received within a day, a contract with description of shots (some were missing) and an additional cost for neutering. Cost $1,287 shipping included for $100.
When I inquired about the details of shipping : how would you ship a kitten all the way from Oklahoma to Princeton, the details were very fuzzy and approximate.
The shipping company that Katherine mentioned didn’t exist!
They mentioned on their site, that they were TiCA members, outstanding cattery, TICA did not report as outstanding cattery
Payment was requested by Zelle to [email protected] or 404-423-3411 We became suspicious and found that the address of their residence was owned by a different person, the telephone where the payment could be sent if the gmail address didn’t have an associated name and the Smokes names could not be found in the white pages. Also no one answers the phone number for the site. It is not registered to an individual. We didn’t proceed due to all the discrepancies.
Also, how can you ship safely a kitten from Oklahoma to Princeton, NJ for just $100 and how can a single female produce a litter of 5 kittens while an average litter is usually 3, maximum 4 for Russian Blue.
It was impossible to connect by telephone, all this was done by email and the responses were very quick.
When we tried to reach their testimonials, just photos of people with cats, from different cities but no addresses or phone number, impossible to reach anybody but Katherine by email.
I really hope that no one will be naïve enough to pay for a kitten they didn’t see.
